The Athletic Dept design from our Johnson City, Tennessee collection, on a crewneck sweatshirt.
A retro athletic department crest for Johnson City, est. 1869: layered mountain ridges and pines inside the shield, 18 and 69 on either side, and ATHLETIC DEPT. across the bottom.
Johnson City was chartered in 1869 and grew up as a railroad town, with three rail lines once crossing downtown. These days the old narrow gauge route lives on as the Tweetsie Trail, a flat rail trail that runs 9.5 miles to Elizabethton and is popular for walking, biking and running.
No. Athletic Dept. is part of the retro design. It is an original Rep Your Town design and is not affiliated with any school or team.
The year Johnson City was chartered, with Henry Johnson as its first mayor.
